Contest Rules & How to Enter

This contest runs from April 1st to 30th and aims to raise awareness about the importance and impact of Organ and Tissue Donation. It also promotes the mission of the Canadian Transplant Association (CTA) and highlights how transplant recipients can live a healthy and active lifestyle.

Who Can Participate?

This contest is open to everyone in Ontario, Canada, including:

  • Transplant recipients

  • Donor families

  • Living donors

  • Supporters and advocates

  • Healthcare professionals

  • Caregivers

  • The general public

The more people involved, the more awareness we can spread!

How to Enter

Complete an activity that raises awareness about organ and tissue donation. You can choose from suggested activities or come up with your own creative ideas.

  1. Submit proof by taking a photo or video of your activity.

  2. Post your entry on social media (Facebook and Instagram) and tag the CTA:

    2. Instagram: @OntarioCTA
      If you don’t have social media, email your submission to Ontario Director Kathleen Zavarise at kzavarise@txworks.ca.

Entries submitted between Monday (12:00 AM EST) and Sunday (11:59 PM EST) will be eligible for weekly prizes. Weekly draws will take place on Mondays (beginning April 7th).

All entries submitted throughout the contest will be entered into the final draw.

Winners

  • Winners will be announced on CTA’s Facebook and Instagram pages, or via email if the entry was submitted by email.

  • Winners must respond within 48 hours, or a new winner may be chosen.

  • CTA Ontario will arrange for prize pickup or delivery at no expense to the winner.

Contest Deadline

The contest runs from April 1 - April 30, 2025. All entries must be submitted by April 30 at 11:59 PM EST to be eligible for the grand prize draw.

Share Your Story on Social Media

  • Post a personal story, video, or message about how organ and tissue donation has impacted your life or someone you know.

  • Use #GiftOfLife #CTA #OrganDonationAwareness #BeADonor #NOTDAW #GreenShirtDay #OntarioCTA.

  • Tag Ontario-CTA Division and encourage others to participate.

Create a "Heart of Hope"

  • Make a heart shape using balloons, lights, or any creative materials to symbolize life.

  • Place it in a public space with a personal message about organ donation.

  • Snap a photo and post it.

Visit a Landmark

  • Find a landmark that represents life or something unique in your city.

  • Take a picture with a sign about organ donation.

  • Be creative. Wear green and share your message online.

Write a Message of Hope

  • Use chalk to leave an inspiring message about organ donation in a park, sidewalk, or another public area.

  • Take a picture and post it to spread awareness.

Create a "Living Card"

  • Use craft supplies to design a card or poster that represents the Gift of Life.

  • Include logos, ribbons, or powerful images related to organ donation.

  • Share it online and display it in a public space.

Ribbons of Life

  • Find or make green ribbons and tie them around a tree, fence, or sign in your community.

Show Appreciation at a Local Hospital

  • Visit a hospital or medical center to thank healthcare professionals for their dedication to saving lives.

Promote a Healthy Lifestyle

  • Record a physical activity (walking, running, yoga—big or small, it all counts).

  • Share a healthy recipe—extra points for photos or videos.

  • Learn a new skill or hobby and teach someone else.

Host a Community Table

  • Set up an awareness table with organ donation materials.

  • Contact TGLN for ribbons, buttons, and resources (order early).

  • Reach out to CTA for swag.

Rock Painting for Awareness

  • Paint a rock with a message about organ donation.

  • Place it in a public space for someone to find and relocate.

  • Include a note with instructions on how to register as a donor.

  • Post your creation on the Canadian Chapter Donate Life Rock Painting Facebook page.

Host a Green Shirt Day Event

  • Organize an event where people wear green and share messages about organ donation.

Group Spirit Challenge

  • Encourage your workplace, team, or school to wear green and take a group photo.

Registration Check

  • Get at least three people to register as organ donors or confirm their registration online.

Green in the Community

  • Find five green items and take a picture with them.

  • Share why green symbolizes organ donation awareness.

Go All Out in Green

  • Wear as much green as possible—the bolder, the better.

  • Get creative with face paint, accessories, and decorations.

Spread Awareness on a Pedestrian Bridge

  • Hang an approved sign promoting organ and tissue donation. (Be mindful of local rules and property guidelines.)
