Who we are

The CTA is a charitable organization whose vision is to improve the health outcomes of transplant recipients by promoting the message of post-transplant healthy living.

A registered charity, the CTA was launched by a group of individuals passionate about showcasing the benefits of organ donation. Almost 35 years later, we have volunteers across the country raising awareness and creating community for transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, and their families. We also engage with health care providers and other advocacy groups on matters relating to the health and wellness of transplant patients.

The CTA is 100% powered by volunteers on the national, provincial and regional levels.

Our Mission

The Canadian Transplant Association’s mission is to encourage healthy lifestyles and to connect and support members of the Canadian transplant community.

Our Values

Respect

Respect calls on each one of us to honour the intrinsic dignity of all other people.   This means our encounters with all individuals whether Board Members, volunteers or those who use our services should be conducted with their unique ideas, beliefs, cultures, personal situations, resources, values, priorities, and objectives in mind.

Inclusion

Inclusion requires each of us to contribute and foster an environment where all voices are heard and people feel respected, valued, and encouraged. We welcome the unique contributions of our members and value the sharing of ideas, knowledge, beliefs, cultures, and experiences.

Transparency

We are committed to communicating critical information to all our stakeholders relating to finances, governance, and program outcomes.

 Collaboration

Through collaboration with key stakeholders and communication within our membership, we strive to provide access to the latest transplant-related health information, athletic, educational, and social events, and guidelines for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
