Note: Registration fees are subsidized by the Canadian Transplant Association, through the generous support of individual and corporate donations, sponsorships, community partners, and the work of 100+ volunteers. This allows athletes and supporters to compete, connect and celebrate at the Games at a significant discount from the 'per person' cost of the running the Games. Because the rates are already discounted so much, we can't apply any additional discounts for any reason.

*Additional Gala tickets may go on sale closer to the summer, should there be additional space available. If there is capacity, tickets will be for sale online in the CTA shop, and will be available for purchase on a first come first serve basis for $150 per person.

About the registration fees:

The CTA does everything it can to keep participation costs as low as possible so that many folks in the transplant community can take part in the games. The registration fees collected do not cover all associated costs of the Games. We rely on the generous support and funds from sponsors, partners, vendors, donations, and the time and skill sets of 100s of volunteers to put on the Games.

The registration fees are calculated based on factors like the total number of participants, and the overall total cost of the Games from start to finish. The all-inclusive flat rates fees each participant pays are then subsidized significantly by the CTA (at least 50% per participant). As such, the fees cannot be discounted further.  This includes people who may want to stay elsewhere in Ottawa, attend just a portion of the games or who live locally.

This has been standard practice for previous Transplant Games. Local participants have opted to make the Games a “staycation”, staying with the other athletes and supporters in the included accommodations, and enjoying the day-to-day activities. This includes cheering on athletes and connecting with others in the transplant community.
